There were four people who publicly declared their faith in Flandreau this weekend through baptism! Additionally, there was another person who expressed interest in being baptized in the near future. Seeing people follow Jesus is incredibly exciting! Today’s brief topic is a little less exciting: finances. As we talked about during the service this past weekend, there is a finance team that met a week ago to go over The Rescue Church’s overall finances. Our giving is currently about $6000 over expenses when designated giving is removed. Thank you God! Pastor Odane, the Leadership Team, our finance team and I have also been talking about moving towards including the Deeside Campus’s total finances into the overall budget similar to Peoria. This has been in the works for a little while now and we continue taking steps. The fact there are 2 different currencies is a challenge we are going to need to work through. The Flandreau Campus is making more repairs to our building. The replacement doors have been ordered and should be installed late summer or early fall. This will help with utility costs since cold air and snow won’t get in as easily in the winter, and the hot summer air won’t get in as freely in the summer. One challenge is that giving directly towards the Care House food distribution has declined. The need is still there. We distributed food to more than 40 families this weekend. Unfortunately, the funds for it are quickly being diminished. If you know someone who would like to donate to help with these costs, they can make their checks out to The Care House or donate on The Rescue Church website and designate it to The Care House Food Distribution. God has been so good! We continue to appreciate the way he has provided for his church through his people. And we continue to be intentional about managing those resources wisely as we pursue our mission of impacting our communities so people KNOW Jesus, GROW in Faith and GO serve others.
